Maurice Gibb
Maurice Gibb was one third of the immensely popular group the Bee Gee’s ( Short for the Brothers Gibb). The group sold well over 110 million records and dominated the 70’s with hits like “Stayin’ Alive” and “Jive Takin'” Maurice played keyboards, bass and guitar and helped pen some of pop signature tunes, with the help of his two brothers. Maurice battled alcoholism and was admitted into Cedars Sinai Hospital in Miami Florida for emergency surgery to repair an intestinal blockage. Maurice died of a heart attack prior to the operation, he was 53.
